Biological Laboratory

The Biological Laboratory is the heart of the unit. It has state-of-the-art special equipment and ensures ideal conditions for the fertilization of eggs and the cultivation of embryos in the incubators, which in some cases reaches the stage of blastocysts. The staff of the Laboratory, headed by the clinical embryologist Dina Katrania, applies all the new IVF techniques such as:

In Vitro Egg Maturation (IVM)
Preimplantation Genetic Diagnosis (PGD / PGS)
Cryopreservation of Eggs and Embryos with Vitification (Vitification)
Assisted Hatching
.

The emBIO unit applies for the first time in our country, the new technique of evaluation of viable embryos based on their metabolic profile. Viatest-E provides an additional important option in addition to the morphological examination in the selection of the most suitable embryos, with a rapid, non-invasive procedure, which is designed to improve the results of in vitro fertilization. EmBIO has one of the highest success rates in Europe for IVF pregnancies and egg or embryo pregnancies. Specifically, the statistical results of successful IVF pregnancies exceed 55%, while in IVF with borrowed eggs the success rate exceeds 60%.
